I won my trip back to Chicago by winning a tournament run by the "Goldie's" chain of taverns in Seattle, WA.

I also played one Foosball event, but after playing that event, things were so screwed up that I stuck to the Centipede events that I had paid for me. I suspected that it was going to be a fiasco after the first Foosball event.

Atari made my checks good, too. Some Foosball players didn't pursue getting the money for their checks and "fun bucks" vouchers. Many of them had sold the vouchers to other players for pennies on the dollar, so they didn't have them to give to Atari anyway.

It was a fun trip, but I was sorry to see Lee hurt in the process.

...........Rocky WillsonRocky Willsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02526702630205202662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8167179463808604240.post-10698603006591202542016-02-01T22:21:46.386-06:002016-02-01T22:21:46.386-06:00I'm the girl that Ok Soo Han beat to win the w...I'm the girl that Ok Soo Han beat to win the women's division.
I won $2000 & my check bounced too, but Atari sent me a replacement check & all ended well.
This was also the cover story for Time Magazine's December 1981 issue.
I still have a copy plus my trophy & a tee shirt.
Julie Winecoff ScogginsJulie Winecoff Scogginshttp://juliescoggins.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8167179463808604240.post-75397992241579124632013-03-10T04:00:33.021-05:002013-03-10T04:00:33.021-05:00I remember this. I was personally escorted off the premises by their security because I complained about the requirement of paying 25 cents per play on modified Centipede games. I left Chicago in despair because of how I was treated there.Beckyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04547097892467008195noreply@blogger.com
